Who is responsible

lightup.lol, based in Ontario, Canada, is responsible for personal information handled through City Lights. Contact support@lightup.lol.

What we collect

• Purchase details: your email, selected window, amount, and Stripe confirmation identifiers. Stripe—not City Lights—collects and stores your full card details.
• Public light content: the name, message, logo, and destination you submit.
• Visits and security data: aggregate clicks, timestamps, user agent, referrer, and ordinary server logs such as IP addresses. We use these to run the site, filter bots, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems—not to build advertising profiles.
• Messages: anything you send us in a support, privacy, legal request, or public content report. Report forms may include an optional email and a one-way identifier derived from basic request data to limit duplicate abuse; we do not store that form identifier as a raw IP address.

How we use it

We use information to complete purchases, display and manage lights, send private management links, count visits, moderate content, prevent fraud, keep accounting records, comply with law, and defend legal claims. Public light content and aggregate visit counts can be seen by anyone, including search engines. Your purchase email is not public.

Who helps us

We share only what is needed with service providers such as Stripe for payments, Resend for email, and DigitalOcean for hosting, database, and object storage. We may also disclose information to professional advisers, authorities when legally required, or a buyer of the service. Providers may process information in other countries. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

Retention and security

Public activity may remain in city history. Payment and correspondence records are kept as long as reasonably needed for tax, accounting, fraud, and disputes. Logs and uploaded files are deleted or anonymized when no longer needed, subject to backups and legal duties. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service can promise perfect security.

Your choices

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, subject to legal recordkeeping and public-history needs. You may also request removal of a light. Contact support@lightup.lol. City Lights is for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children.
